Visitor control
All visitors and residents that do not have a remote with them are required to complete the visitors register.  Once completed, all visitors are issued with a visitor card which must be returned to the guards when leaving the estate.

We do understand that the guards may know or recognise some residents and that signing in is inconvenient.  The guards can however not be allowed to use their own judgement when deciding who should sign in.  Misjudgements can easily be made and is a serious security risk. Residents' co-operation in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Residents are also reminded that the guards are under strict instruction not to allow any visitors into the estate after 10pm.  In such cases, visitors must be fetched by the resident.

Functioning of the booms
After several inquiries we would like to explain the functioning of the boom at the entrance to everybody.

Guards at the main gate have control of the boom for entrance and exit gates for visitors only. This is activated with a remote that functions on a different frequency than that of the residents. They are not in possession of a remote control to open the residents booms, and thus have no control over the residents' boom at the main gate.

When the residents' boom is opened with a remote control, it remains open for a few seconds after the vehicle has passed through. This is a security measure only. The vehicle, having passed through, activates a sensor in the road that close the boom.

Should a second vehicle approach the boom while it is still open, the "open" function on the remote must still be pushed to keep the boom open. If this is not done, the boom will close because the first vehicle will activate the sensor in the road to close the boom.

However, it happens regularly that an incoming/exiting resident activates the wrong function on the remote control, which then opens the entrance/exit boom as well. When this happens, the boom that has been opened mistakenly, is not given the "close" signal from the sensor in the road. The boom will remain open for approximately 25 seconds, and then will automatically close. In such an instance, an approaching vehicle must still activate the "open" function in order to ensure that the boom does not sense the end of the 25 seconds and inadvertently close on the incoming vehicle.
Patrols
Regular patrols by vehicle and by foot are done by the guards.  Foot patrols are only done between 10pm and 6am.
